  1.                     MESSAGE FROM THE IOTA COMMITTEE

  3. You have indicated that you will be operating from an island.  On the
  4. Contest Summary Sheet you will be asked to give the name of this island.
  5. If you have not already done so, please check that it counts for the group
  6. you claim by referring to the latest (1993) IOTA Directory available from
  7. RSGB Headquarters.
  8.  
  9. In a case of doubt, where the island is close to the mainland or is tiny,
  10. you should write to the IOTA Director, Roger Balister G3KMA, La Quinta,
  11. Mimbridge, Chobham, Woking, Surrey GU24 8AR, England with a map showing
  12. that the island meets the qualification criteria on pages 10 & 11 of the
  13. Directory.

  15. As a general rule, where the island is not mentioned by name in the
  16. Directory you should add the geographical coordinates (not Locator) on
  17. the Contest Summary Sheet.

  19.    Please understand, the RSGB HF Contests and IOTA Committees would be
  20.    as disappointed as you and other contestants if, after the contest,
  21.    it was found that your island did not count for IOTA.
